La hero\u00edna de Mathilda es el resultado del primer deseo mortal de su padre, y el libro se convierte en un mito fundacional a\u00fan m\u00e1s autobiogr\u00e1fico que\u00a0<em>Frankenstein<\/em>. Sus p\u00e1ginas nos llevan a lo mejor del Romanticismo ingl\u00e9s: en ellas nos encontraremos con la Naturaleza, con relaciones apasionadas y con esa pulsi\u00f3n suicida tan propia de la \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n<p>La Autora:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mary Shelley<\/strong> (Londres, 1797-1851). Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, conocida como Mary Shelley, fue una narradora, dramaturga, ensayista, fil\u00f3sofa y bi\u00f3grafa brit\u00e1nica, reconocida sobre todo por ser la autora de la novela g\u00f3tica\u00a0<em>Frankenstein o el moderno Prometeo\u00a0<\/em>(1818). Tambi\u00e9n edit\u00f3 y promocion\u00f3 las obras de su esposo, el poeta rom\u00e1ntico y fil\u00f3sofo Percy Bysshe Shelley. Su padre fue el fil\u00f3sofo pol\u00edtico William Godwin y su madre la fil\u00f3sofa feminista Mary Wollstonecraft.
